Hot Cup Records is proud to announce that Mostly Other People Do the Killing has won the 2009 DB Critics' Poll in the Rising Star Ensemble Category! The poll also included Peter Evans (Rising Star Trumpet), Jon Irabagon (Rising Star Alto Saxophone), Charles Evans (Rising Star Baritone Saxophone), and Moppa Elliott (Rising Star Composer). Mostly Other People Do the Killing will be in central europe all next week. we are playing at the A-Train in Berlin on monday, may 25, then the Bimhuis in Amsterdam on friday, may 29, and the Moers festival on saturday, may 30. in between we'll be performing a several schools in berlin, moers and dusseldorf. see you there!

hot cup welcomes jan roth back to the states from germany and announces 2 performances by the reunited "language of." on friday, 3/13, the of will be performing at i beam in brooklyn, followed by a performance at goodbye blue monday on friday 3/20. the quartet will be performing new pieces as well as music from their previous releases.
